Intoxicated in a Public Place, Possess of weapon & Fare Evasion, Aitkenvale:

Police have charged a man with a number of offences following an incident that occurred at Aitkenvale Park, Petunia Street, Aitkenvale, on Saturday afternoon, June 17.

At approximately 1.00pm on Saturday afternoon, Police were called to Aitkenvale Park following reports of a disturbance amongst a group of people congregating in the Park.

It will be alleged that on arrival, police observed the man to be highly intoxicated in a public place and was also wanted on a number of other matters.  A subsequent search of his person/property located a kitchen knife.

The 33-year old Gulliver man has been charged with being Intoxicated in a Public Place, Possession of a weapon (knife) and Fare Evasion and will appear in the Townsville Magistrates Court on July 4.

Wounding – Happy Valley, Rowes Bay:

Police are investigating after attending a disturbance in Happy Valley, Rowes Bay early on Sunday morning.

Around 1.50am a 36-year-old man received a stab wound in the top of the shoulder after attempting to break up a fight between a number of other people at the location.  The male was transported to the Townsville Hospital by QAS with non-life threatening injuries.

A 20-year-old female has been nominated as the suspect, Police inquiries are continuing

Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle, Break & Enter x 3 and numerous traffic offences, Townsville:

Police have charged a man with a number of traffic related offences including two counts of unlicensed driving, one count each of driving an unregistered & uninsured motor vehicle, evade police, false number plates and three counts of burglary.

At approximately 5.00pm on Saturday, June 17, Police intercepted a vehicle being driven by a 27-year-old Rasmussen man.  The man was arrested and charged with a number of offences and will appear in the Townsville Magistrates Court on Monday, June 19.
